Amy Winehouse, singer, songwriter and usual tabloid victim has been gaining press yet again, but not for her usual drinking, drugging and wife-beating antics. Winehouse's recent press has been related to her new breast implants which enhanced her already 32D cups to 34Ds. Some say that Winehouse, 26, is recreating herself and coming out as a new woman awaiting a big comeback. Many articles, including one in February 2010's issue of Playboy have show Winehouse's new body entering and exiting airports and recording studios. Also, sources close to Winehouse say she looks better than ever and is working hard as well, trying to get her life on track, stay healthy and revamp her career as a musician. Amy Winehouse who has been in the tabloids mostly for drug and alcohol related incidents as well as violence between her and ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil. Now, with her new found confidence and breasts, Amy Winehouse is reported to have an album coming out later on this year as well as helping Lady GaGa on her new singles. She is also said to be dating aspiring actor Josh Bowman and working on her sobriety. Although smaller articles having been reporting these good bits and pieces of Winehouse's life, for the most part her pictures and critiques hitting the tabloids and magazines reporting on her breast implants have still been technically bad press. I would have to agree that in the past Amy Winehouse has been an extremely easy target for tabloid gossip but now I wonder if our own cultural front picks on particular stars just to pick on them. More than half of the female celebrities out there today have gotten more than one part of their body enhanced, tucked or chiseled and most of them have either gotten positive feedback or hardly any feedback at all. But poor Amy Winehouse who decided to enhance her body to feel better about herself and start a new life continues to get punished in the magazines and tabloid headlines with photos that show the worst side of her and even perhaps her new boob job (refering to the most popular picture of Amy Winehouse's new breast implants in which her breast has actually come out of her shirt). So in conclusion, my little Amy Winehouse rant brings me to the question of whether or not the materials of popular culture choose to pick on certain celebrities and show their bad sides while they choose to leave other celebrities alone of show their better sides?
