Palins vs. Johnston

Levi Johnston, the father to Bristol Palin's 1 year old son Tripp has done it again, since 2008 he desperately tries to establish himself as a fascinating person outside his relationship with the Palins. Johnston used different strategies to place himself in the public eye. During the 2008 Presidential Election Johnston stepped on the scene as the soon to be father and husband to Bristol Palin and son in law to vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. This is a direct reflection of Ellis Cashmore’s chapter on scandal. Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin could be considered one of the biggest sex scandals publicized by the media. Although the Palin’s down played the situation of teen pregnancy by suggesting the two get married it only causes more drama. Soon after Levi was accused of cheating on Bristol with an older woman. And after the two did not work out Johnston attempted to take his career to the next level. Johnston did some modeling, made public appearances, and claimed to reveal the truth about the Palin family. Ultimately Johnston’s article in Vanity Fair magazine about the Palins was what Sofia Johansson called tabloidization. Johnston exaggerated his story in hopes of becoming someone of interest in the media. And finally Bristol now claims that Johnston does not support his son. If you ask me I think this was just another one of his tricks so the media will not forget about him. I think Johnston has been nothing but trouble to the Palin family and ultimately had a negative effect on the Mc Cain and Palin campaign. Unfortunately I think Levi Johnston built his persona at the expense of the Palin family.
