One of man's favortie Burgers being sold with man's favorite Beer?

The Whopper Bar, scheduled to open its first location mid- February, in a tourist populated South Beach, Florida. The new idea for The Whopper Bar came as a ploy to compete with other casual restaurants that have the edge over BK, because of being able to sell alcohol. This new idea will not pertain to every Burger King, so alcohol will only be available at these new Whopper Bars. The Bar is being made to attract the 30 and under crowd, which is said to be the future growth in the restaurant industry.
Although this does seem like a good idea, is it too much of a change for an old fashioned burger place such as Burger King? Because of how everyone is hearing about America as being an obease culture and fast food restaurants are the main cause for this obesity, sales have gone down for Burger King. With Burger King pairing up with beer companies to sell their beer with burgers, it is sure to give BK a popularity boost. For adults 21 and over, there is nothing better to do on a friday night and weekend to get away from work, and maybe have a few beers with some friends to relieve stress. Beer companies have huge profits, and pairing up with food is somewhat of a man's "dream."
The Whopper bar plans to sell the beers for $4.25 a piece, but with a Whopper combo the total will come to $8.00, only 2 dollars more than the regular combo with a fountain drink. This sales pitch alone will attract more people who are looking for a quick meal as well as a beer. I personally feel as if this new idea will sky rocket, and attract more people who are looking to say that they can go get BK as well as a beer. However, I do see this as BK getting away from their original roots. With alcohol being involved at the Whopper Bar, will it still be a good place to bring your kids for a meal? Most likely not. There are still regular Burger Kings around the nation, but I also see the Whopper Bar turning into a place where drunks can go get a burger late at night, as well as a place to get more alcohol into their systems.
In a popular culture sense, this plan for the Bar will give BK media coverage, as well as power. The fast food industry is very competitive, and each chain wants to outsell the other. Many times on commercials we see BK comparing their burgers to McDonalds, and showing how theirs are better. With new products always coming out for all fast food businesses, this idea will give BK the edge over their competitors such as McDonalds and Taco Bell. If 3 adults are together in a car getting ready to start the weekend night off, seeing a Whopper Bar as a fast way to drink a couple beers and fill up before the night starts is going to be more appealing.
